This blog post was long over due but finally glad to show off these beautiful images of the Smith wedding. They were married at Kim's parents house in Apex and what a wonderful location for a wedding and the weather even though was a little hot outside was perfect...minus the nice thunderstorm we had during the reception that was outside. Kim decided before the wedding that she wanted to do the first look before the ceremony and I'm all about that as you can tell from their reaction...it was priceless!!! We had a wonderful time during your wedding and Kim was the perfect bride as we started with the engagement pictures, then bridal pictures and then the wedding and then we did the trash the dress shoot which was so much fun and those images are coming soon. When I was contacted by Morgan about possibly shooting her wedding I was already booked for that day but she was still interested in me photographing her engagement session which I love to do. I asked Morgan did she have any ideas as most brides don't really have an idea on the type of session they were looking for. Well...I have to say she sent me a long email with lots of cool ideas and it was on! We had the best session as we had to split them up in several days. Sabrina & Josh E-Session

I was contacted by Sabrina months ago about doing her wedding in June and they were so ready to do their engagement session. Sabrina and Josh drove up from Fayetteville on a very cold and somewhat rainy day but that is almost perfect light so I was excited about the shoot. You can't tell in the images but it was quite cold even though Sabrina is wearing a short sleeve shirt, we threw on jackets very quickly after each little area till we got to a new spot. What troopers and minus the teeth chattering it turned out to be an awesome session. They had so much fun just laughing and smiling and all that kissing, I had to make them stop a couple of time, they were having so much fun which makes my job a little easier. Let me just tell you I had the best time photographing Melissa on this shoot. Of course you can tell this isn't her first time in front of the camera and honestly she can't take a bad picture! We talked about the shots we wanted to do and she has been know for a county girl so of course that was out of the question so we brought a little country to the city and below you have the outcome! I like to introduce you to Jessica and Evan Andersen...Woohoo!!! Such a beautiful wedding at Yankee Hall and it started off with a cold front with lots of rain coming in that afternoon and and we said a few prays to please hold off long enough to get the ceremony in before the rain hit. It worked...it started to rain a little towards the beginning and it was a perfect as we finished right before the bottom fell out. Inside we went to a throw down with lots of dancing, lots of laughs and lots of hugs...it was Awesome!!! Click on the images for a larger view.

Well I have to say this E-session was a little challenging as Kim and Michael wanted to have their session in Belhaven and I had to look this place up on the map to see where it was located. On the water...that's cool I though until I got down there and saw how small of a town it was and I was like "uh oh...where to shoot, where to shoot!" I had the wheels spinning the whole time looking everywhere and then we started at one location and it took off from there and ended up with such an awesome time and great pictures, we had a blast! We just finished Kim's bridal session this past weekend so can't share those till later so for now enjoy their fun session in the small town of Belhaven, in which this will be their resting place after the wedding. Jenny & Alex Bridgman Wedding

My first wedding of the year finally arrived and had the wonderful pleasure of spending it with Jenny and Alex...well taking the pictures that is. The wedding took place at Unity church in Greenville but all the before pictures of Jenny before the ceremony took place about 15 minutes across town at a friends house and that is where we started the day. After spending time with Jenny and the bridesmaid we hustled back over to the church and hung out with Alex and his boys before Jenny arrived. What cool styles each had and it was so much fun to see new things at their wedding. The ceremony started not long after Jenny arrived and soon all was done and even though the reception was very short they had hundreds of family and friends ready to give them hugs before they exited and off on their honeymoon. At this point we started off with prayer and it started off very nice and sweet till we got to the fun part of the prayer and of course you can see a small grin from Jenny and a big one from mom! You get the point! Fun fun fun...

I had the pleasure of photographing 6 month old baby Will last weekend and it wasn't just a few months ago we finished up his 3 month old baby pics. What a super cute baby boy and we had a star on our hands the whole day. BTW...his mom did an awesome job of dressing him up, they just have it that way I guess...don't let the dads bring the clothes...hint hint to all the moms! Crystal's Maternity Shoot

Crystal contacted me at the end of December about having some maternity shoots done before her baby arrived in March with her husband Brett. We picked a day a few weeks before her due date and once we got started the time just flew by as we hit several locations around Greenville in the cold, and by the way, every client I've had in the cold has done awesome and that includes you Crystal as it was quite cold outside. For some reason it seems as thought the moms-to-be can brave any weather! Crystal put all her trust in me to pick some nice locations and the light that day was perfect and we had a blast. Smiling Sammi!!!

I always look forward to Sammi's photo shoots and this is the third time I've had the pleasure of photographing her. She is cute as a button, has the prettiest smile and is game for anything I throw her way. When we set up the photo shoot with her mom, I was looking for a cool urban shoot and I sent her a few samples of different clothes I thought would look cool and very urban like and she was on board. When we met at the location and I saw the outfits I was super excited to start shooting, even though Sammi was a little cold she totally rocked this session as you can see from the pictures. She was able to give me my poses, after she warmed up of course and the rest was history. Thanks Sammi, you did awesome and love the short hair! Click on the images for a larger view.

Jillian & Matt's Wedding Day

When I first met Jillian and Matt they seemed to be very soft spoken...more Jillian than Matt but they knew the type of wedding they wanted and after finishing their engagement photos they asked if I would do their wedding and of course I said "I would love to photograph your wedding". So months later the wedding arrives and about a week before I call them up and go over a few ideas about the bridesmaids and groomsmen shoot that I had a few places outside that would look very cool. They were all about the idea and we kept watching the weather up to their wedding day. One day it was sunny, the next it was rain, then sun, the rain. Well, it started raining as soon as we got to the church and then it started to sleet. Not good!! After the wedding we all headed downtown to this abandoned building that would be cool for the group shots of the wedding party since my other idea was put to rest due to the rain. Well, we get the guys out first and start getting some cool shots and then three police cars pull up. I kept shooting till it was time to see what's up. Not a big deal, it's an condemned building and they tell us we have to leave (even though there are no signs up or anything). But, they did give me ten minutes to finish the shoot which wasn't the amount of time I wanted but I did what I could with the time I had and was very happy with the results. Then off to the Martinsborough located downtown Greenville for the reception and what a fun place, live band, nice food and this very cool staircase that I just had to get Jillian and Matt on before they headed for their honeymoon. We had an awesome time at your wedding and can't wait for you to see the rest of the photos. Thanks to Andrea Wood for second shooting with me on this one. Click on the images for a larger view.

Now after three years this is their third family session and each time we have the best time. When we schedule appointments you never know how the weather is going to be until the day of the shoot. Well on this day it was raining when we got to our location and rained for another 30 minutes while we were hanging out in the cars with the radar in hand waiting for the break in the rain. It finally stopped and we had about 1 hour window before the next wave of rain came along and that was the perfect time to get in these amazing shots of Harley...the light was perfect. Whenever I start a engagement session I always get a chance to see how much in love each couple are with each other and again this session was no different. I had the best time with Jillian and Matt and I will always tell a couple before the session that I like a lot of kissing shots and most never object to that and sometimes you can get some killer shots that and you can really see the passion for each other and I think that makes an awesome picture. Ashely Hines Bridal Portraits

I'm excited to show everyone Ashley's bridal portraits since she was married this past Saturday and hopefully have a great time on her honeymoon. I like it when the brides have a certain place in mind for their photos and Ashley did a great job with her location. I was raining that day and was raining hard when we pulled up, everyone with umbrellas in hand. But after 15 minutes or so the rain left up for the most part and we were able to get out in the yard and you know what happened, that beautiful light came through the clouds and I was happy. Wake boarding Photo Project Complete!

Let me start off by saying I always enjoyed watching extreme sports from snowboarding, motocross, bmx and wake boarding, even to this day I'm watching the X games on espn. For the past months I've been looking at doing a photo project with some wake boarders in Greenville. I posted a message on facebook if anyone knew any wake boarders and it took off from there. After a few phone calls to Tim Moore who was very cool to take me out with the riders one Saturday morning on his boat, we set up a time and place. We picked up a few other riders and off we went and after 4 hours of shooting we were back on the dock and excited to see what I got from that session. The next photo shoot was to have the riders come to the house so we can do some individual shots, some with their wake boards and some just hanging out. Then it was time to merge the shots together into a cool ad poster that you would see in any extreme magazine. I always like graphic design but never really pursued the side like I did with photography. So I introduce you to the first of 4 riders...Kent Norris. I sure most of everyone that is the wake boarding scene knows Kent as he is one extreme rider and it was a thrill to capture his cool style of riding on the Tar River. I had an awesome time with this project and looking to do a few more in the future. Click on the image for a larger view.

When I was contacted by Sherry about doing Brittany's senior pictures they were looking to have them done at ECU and plus her good friend Kimmy was also going to join in on the shoot. It's always fun to do senior pictures but I was looking to use locations at ECU that never seem to be shot, if you know what I mean. Now, most time when you are photographing two people at the same time you almost have to use the same locations as you will see here. I'm glad to see you warmed up a little after a couple of minutes as the shoot was perfect. So here you go ladies, hope you enjoy them. Here are a few of my favorites. Family Trip to the Asheboro Zoo

We made a trip down to the Asheboro Zoo on Friday, perfect weather, around 75 degrees and very little people at the park. We had certain animals we wanted to see but the only two we didn't get a chance to watch was the lion (he was sleeping) and the polar bear. He was awake but we were looking for the fun swimming they do but he wasn't in the mood. There was another lady there taking pictures and she waited for two hours but she gave up, as we did and moved on. One of the funniest things that happen is when Kim and this gorilla were playing through the glass. They would look at each other and he would pop up and hit the glass a few times and lay down. A minute or two would pass and he would do the same thing. This went on for about 15 minutes and we were laughing so hard. It was just us and the gorilla, looks like he was bored so he had his fun with Kim also. Some animals were just too far to get any good shots or hidden, but here are a few from our trip at the Asheboro zoo. Enjoy.

The Woolard Wedding

This has been a long time coming as I met Coy and Jessica last year during their engagement session. We had a blast during that shoot and we just hit if off, plus Coy is a gadget geek like me. Go Mac!!! The wedding was pushed back due to a new edition named "Bill". I've got a shot of him in there somewhere, he is cute as a button. They got married on the small island of Ocracoke and I started the shoot with Jessica at the house they had rented for the week. It was a little tight but we made it work. Then we all headed to the beach and the weather was perfect, we had a nice big cloud that stayed in front of the sun for the whole wedding and for the fun shoot we had afterwards. We all headed back to the rental house with close family and friends for a small reception. Good times and a wonderful wedding that I'm glad I was able to photograph for you. When Morgan emailed me about photographing Lanier she said they were looking for something country with some nice fields. They also mentioned that he was walking pretty good and I asked "Will he stop long enough to snap some shots?" That would be a negative! LOL. He was all over the place and gave me a good work out trying to keep up with him. He was a little explorer checking out everything...he was like Eveready bunny, he kept going and going and going! Senior Haley Cobb

Normally when I have a photo session scheduled we will pick out a location that the customer likes or they will leave it up to me to pick a location. Well, I always like it when the customer has a few locations picked out and this was the case with Haley. But, you never know what you will find once you get there, especially if it's out in the country...way out!!! Once we got to the first location I had to walk around for about 10-15 minutes looking for a nice spot, I'm always about a cool and clean background and our shoot started on a farm and there was not a cloud in the sky. We found the first spot and here comes our senior model Haley, all smiles as you will see from her photos, then we headed to the next location, the next and then the next. What an awesome day we had at Nicki & Joey's wedding at Rock Springs. The wedding was outside and we couldn't ask for nicer weather.
