Carrie and John wanted to go to Tryon Palace for their engagement session because they like the gardens there, but… since I’ve photographed a few couples out there in the past, I also wanted to try some new locations in New Bern that I had previously scouted out. As it'ss perfectly natural, John was a little nervous about having everyone watching him being photographed, but I always give the couples a few tips so they can block out everyone more comfortably. It’s mostly the guys that seem to need this since the ladies are usually really ready for the shoot and don’t care if anyone is watching… LOL. This is especially the case if we are in a somewhat crowded place…such as Tryon Palace , because, of course, it was the day it was FREE to the public. Once we turned the corner and saw all the cars… whoa… I knew it was going to be a, shall we say, “interesting” shoot for me. This was particularly “interesting” because I try to take shots with nobody wandering in the background. Not a simple task on that day. So, after walking around there for a while, we headed to a few other places that I had picked out and it all worked out perfectly. For some reason there seems to be a lot more kissing and smooching and laughing in these photos (wink, wink) but I don’t think they cared one bit. I’m really looking forward to the wedding at the beach…it’s coming up soon!!! Click on the images for a larger view.

Fun with the Law Kids
We were visiting the in-laws a few weeks ago and my friend Jeff (who lives across the street) was going out to photograph his kids for Easter. I asked to tag along as it's always fun to watch other people try to photograph their own kids, as I know first hand with my little girl. Well, why he was photographing one of his girls I took Alexis to the side and played around with some shots of her, it turned out to be a little cool mini shoot, even though I was just there to watch but couldn't resist taking out my camera and taking a few shots. You have two sweet little girls Jeff and Dana, they sure don't take after Jeff do they? :-)

The Taylor Family
I had the pleasure of photographing baby Kayden when she was a little over a month old and Beth contacted me about doing another session when she turned 3 months old, well the time has come and Tuggy (the dad) came along on the second shoot as we had to split the sessions up. From the two sessions I've done with Beth I can tell she is going to be an awesome mom!! You are a special girl baby Kayden to have two parents that love you as much as your mom and dad! You can tell from their pictures the smiles and bond they have with Kayden. Cherish these moments every day.
